MONTENEGRO, Budva: Hotel Avala

We were thrilled with our hotel in Budva.  The location - the views from the balcony - the spa - the delicious buffet.  It was magnificent.

The only drawback was that we were only going to be staying there for one night.

I had wanted to travel to Dubrovnik - and we had already booked the hotel there for the following next night - but we were having such a wonderful time at this resort - that it seemed a shame to leave.  Still, we pushed on with our (ambitious) spring break travel itinerary.

We enjoyed Dubrovnik as well - but - we will always have happy memories of our time in Budva - and we hope to return to Hotel Avala some day.

As you can see, the Old Town is just steps from the entrance to the Hotel Avala

we were asked at check-in if we wanted a free upgrade to a junior suite - Da!
