KOSOVO, Prizren: Kalaja Fortress and Sinan Pasa Mosque

During Spring Break week we took a short (4-day) roadtrip -- from Skopje to Prizren (Kosovo) to Shkoder (Albania) to Budva (Montenegro) to Dubovnik (Croatia). 5 countries in 4 days. We hired a driver (thanks, Goran!)  so we could sit back and enjoy the scenery.

Here are some pictures of the mountainous drive (Shar Mountains) from Skopje to Prizren Still snow on the ground! And snow-capped mountains. As we stopped at this rest area we enjoyed the crisp, cool mountain air.

We visited Prizren -- the Kalaja Fortress, the Sinan Pasa Mosque, the damaged Orthodox church. We also enjoyed a delicious lunch (and macchiatos!) in an outdoor cafe.

Elsewhere on this blog you can read more about our trip to Kosovo in February. There are 11 posts, beginning with the visit to the American Corner in Pristina, that start here:

it's a long walk up a steep hill to get to the Kalaja Fortress

but the views make the hike worth it!
