After covering material regarding interest groups and political parties, I asked students to complete an in-class writing assignment.
Here students are writing answers to my questions
1) Identify NGOs, civil society or other charitable organizations that you know of working in Tetovo (or your home town). What kind of issues are being addressed? Are you (or friend/family member) volunteering with this/these organization(s)? If so, can you also include contact information for the organization.
2) What do you see as a need in your community? What issue(s) would you like to see addressed? Do you have ideas for our civic engagement project?
We are in the beginning stages of identifying our service learning project(s) for this semester. Stay tuned!
