Stip: University of Goce Delcev (UGD)

Today I traveled to Stip (south and east from Skopje -- see the map of Macedonia, below) to visit the University Goce Delcev (UGD) and the American Corner Stip.

Gazmend from the US Embassy Macedonia details educational exchange programs to the US that are funded by US government -- and how the application process works

after the presentation in the classroom, the UGD radio station interviewed Gazmend for their program - and also it was "live" on their facebook page

the pictures don't do it justice - at all! - but the drive to Stip was beautiful - loved the rolling hills and the snow-capped mountains in the distance

on our way to Stip - at this point had to resist temptation to bear right to go to Veles and find the "fake news" instigators from the 2016 presidential election

basketball was on TV when we arrived at the restaurant - my first thought was March Madness - but it is a European League (which made sense since it would be middle of the night/very early morning back home)

YES! We stopped for the pastremalija for lunch! This is Peggy's favorite -- "Macedonian pizza" -- this is just the dough and meat - she does not even have to say "No Sauce"
