Strumica: the drive from Skopje to Strumica and a stop at the Carevi Kuli restaraunt

On our drive to our girls spa weekend in Sandanski, Bulgaria we wanted to see new sights in Macedonia. (blog post about spa weekend in Bulgaria)

We were planning to make stops in Stip and Strumica - which we did - but - unfortunately, we did not get to all of the sites we would have wanted to. Partly because our driver was not familiar with the location of the Strumica attractions, so it felt like we were on a wild goose chase, and partly because when we finally would find an attraction, it was closed!

(For example, the Museum of Strumica is apparently closed on Saturdays.  And, we were able to visit the Church of the 15 Martyrs - but its gallery of icons was also closed on Saturdays. See blog post Strumica Church of the 15 Martyrs)

It was getting later and later, so, we finally decided we would just make our way to Sandanski.

There are so many things to do in Strumica. See  trip advisor -- things to do in Strumica

We will have to go back another time to see the waterfalls and the monasteries and the Roman ruins and the museum...

For that afternoon, we went up to the Carevi Kuli restaraunt - enjoyed the scenic vistas - and then went back on our way

in front of the restaurant there was a mini zoo

it was nice to break up the road-trip with some time on the trampoline
