On the last Friday of the month, my daughter's school hosts a "Community Time" - which features different classes/activities. The event is followed by a PSG (Parent Support Group) meeting in the Community Room (like a cafe ... that includes a coffee bar!)
At this month's meeting we saw 2 short plays - written and performed by the 5-8-year-old after school drama program. (They also made their costumes and designed their sets.) We also saw the 7-8-year-olds perform skits/movie showing what they learned about comparing fractions (writing letters, Dear Miss Fraction...). Entertaining. And showed the students practical application of understanding fractions.
I look forward to these monthly events. I enjoy seeing the creativity and the love of learning that is fostered through these teaching methods.

I got to ride the "bus" to school with my daughter...she didn't want me to quiz her on her Spanish vocab (pictured in her hands) in front of her friends ... |

one of the PSG projects is creating this community garden - each of the classrooms will be able to have one of the beds |

once completed the arrangement will look like a flower (and there will be seating, water feature) |
