Kosovo: Ulpiana archeological site

We visited the archeological site at Ulpiana.  Extraordinary opportunity to walk through this ancient Roman town from the 3rd century.

Wonderful work has been done to create pathways, benches, signage (and protection) for visitors to appreciate this historic site. The guard told us that they were going to construct a cafe (and later will be charging admission for the site).

As the brochure from the site explains, "In the beginning of the 1st century AD with the Roman occupation of the Dardania, this multi-layered archeological site was developed from an ancient Dardanian settlement into a typical Roman town....It reached its highest development during the period between 3rd and 4th centuries AD."
